Southern California is a painters paradise! The weather and quality of light is amazing!

These classes will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 10am-1pm at a variety of gorgeous Orange County outdoor locations including Balboa Island, Heisler Park, Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove, Corona Del Mar and more.

This is a great learning opportunity as each of these places provide artists with a variety of subject matter including sea rocks, cliffs, yachts, reflections and waves. Through demonstrations and individual help, I'll guide each of you to "see" and "interpret" these subjects in your own way.

I'll begin each class with a short demonstration and talk about a different subject. I'll cover a wide variety of subjects including reflections, atmosphere, perspective, light and shadow, how to put people in your paintings, how to create motion when painting a wave, and much more.

I'll base my guidance on the fundamentals of drawing, design, values, colors, edgework and shapes. I'll also teach the secrets of how to paint with loose, expressive brushwork as well as how to put the emotions you feel for a place into your work.
